Sun requirement for tokinashi daikon: Plant in Full Sun

A very long, white daikon with a green shoulder above ground that stays tender even when large. It grows very fast and is very slow to bolt. Used raw in salads, in soups, stews and stir-fries, and for lactic pickling; the greens are edible and nutritious. Scatter-sow in trays in autumn or early spring and transplant at the second leaves, 15 cm apart on the diagonal, or direct sow year-round except where winters are very cold.
