PermalinkHi everyone,
Just did a quick code push which included the following new features and bugfixes:
- Member bios – you can now write a short bio to include on your profile page
- Crop wrangler homepage – a handy page with info/tools for our new crop wranglers (and yes, we're still recruiting)
- Bugfix: when editing seeds that were available for trade, the "will trade to" field kept getting reset to "nowhere". This should now be fixed.
- Bugfix: no longer always redirects you to the homepage after login
- Bugfix (fingers crossed!): some Firefox users were finding their email address pre-filled in the "location" field in their member settings page. We've told Firefox not to auto-complete that field, and hopefully it will help. Please let us know if you still see this problem.

I'm assuming this is a beta project, and that you're looking for feedback. Not sure where to post this, so here goes.
If this is indeed in beta, I think you should put an easy link on EVERY page to gather feedback instantly.
In Plantings, the selection "Bell pepper" does not cover the entire Pepper family. Can you either add just a regular Pepper section, or add the various subvarieties of peppers (chili, jalapeno, etc. that don't count as "bell")?
"Garden" is my only planting option, but I plant my herbs in hanging patio boxes and large pots. I imagine a lot of folks do other kinds of container gardening, can these be added? There are also wall gardens, hydroponics, indoor gardens, intensives… can we see more options?
After I add a planting, it would be great to have a button right there where I could immediately add another planting.
Not everyone knows coriander by that name; I suspect that most who grow it mean to grow cilantro.
Is there a way to add "other" to the planting list, so those who don't know that cilantro is also coriander will have some way to add their plantings?
When I'm selecting something from the plant list, I keep trying to type it in ("ore" to get to oregano, for example) and then I keep trying to hit tab to select. Can you add the tab key as well as the return to select?
When I select a date on the month for the planting date, I have to click again off of the calendar to return to the page. Can the calendar close once I select the date?
On the Plantings page, I'd like to be able to click on the headers (Crop, dates, etc.) to sort and organize my crops.
Add an entry like "cultivation" or "fertilizing" or some such? Either that, or give us a way to search through our notes?
OK, that's enough for now… good luck! Fun idea, we'll see where it goes!
@mamagotcha Not quite beta, but very new and constantly improving. This "Feedback & Support" forum is exactly the place to post feedback, so thank you!
I'll take your comments point by point.

Good idea! I'll think about where we can put that. Maybe in the top navbar, on the right.

This is a work in progress. We have just recruited a team of "crop wranglers" whose first project is to fill out the pepper hierarchy more fully. At the moment there is a representative example of each family of peppers, but as you say, it's not complete. We should have this done within a few weeks. Sorry for the delay.

These are your gardens, so you can add more by going to "Your Stuff" (top menu), "Gardens", and then "Add Garden" – here's a direct link. For instance I have "backyard", "front yard", and "mini-greenhouses".

Thanks for the suggestion!

International names are on the to-do list. We intend to load a variety of international names (eg. "aubergine" for eggplant, "kumara" for sweet potato, and also eg. "pomodoro" and "토마토" for tomato so that people who speak other languages can find what they're looking for) – we'll be using all the translations that Wikipedia offers via its international sidebar. For now, though, I'm afraid people just have to remember the alternative names :(

This is on the roadmap for the next few months.

We can look into it.

We can look into it. For these sorts of suggestions, we'll want to check that doing this won't mess up anyone else's way of using the site, including people who use mobile or other devices, so I can't guarantee we'll end up doing them.

So would I! It's on our list of things to do: here
> Add an entry like "cultivation" or "fertilizing" or some such? Either that, or give us a way to search through our notes?
Future wishlist item :) We've wanted to add the ability to track how you cultivate/fertilize things, and leave reminders for when things need cultivating in future, but it'll take us a while to get to this I'm afraid.
Search is another issue. Our first search feature will be crop search, but searching plantings (including for things like notes etc) is something we should definitely think about.
> OK, that's enough for now… good luck! Fun idea, we'll see where it goes!
Thank you very much! Stick around, because we keep updating the site regularly and we will definitely take your ideas onboard.
