fava bean harvested by auwillia

My husband says the fava beans are ready when the pod starts to hang down instead of sticking straight out. All the plants were falling over, so we harvested all of them in one go. Possibly they got too much water. This happened last year too, though, and this year has been much hotter earlier in the year. A lot of the beans were already starting to dry in the pods this year.
