Vicia faba

Sun requirement for tic bean: Plant in Full Sun

A Middle Eastern relative of the broad bean, similar in plant but with many more, smaller pods. Plants tiller vigorously and reach about 1.3 m. Eat the beans fresh like broad beans, or leave the pods on the plant until black to dry them. Very tasty. Sow in autumn, or in spring in very cold areas, in trays and transplant at 25 cm in two rows per bed. Watch for blackspot.
