Sweet Annie

Artemisia annua

A straggly annual medicinal herb in the wormwood family, up to about 1 m tall but not wide, with silver leaves and a strong, sweet scent. It likes heat and Mediterranean-type sites. Sow in late spring by pressing seed onto fine, weed-free mix without covering it, keep it moist but not wet, prick out at the second leaves and transplant at 5 cm high, 30 cm apart on the diagonal.
