Strap Leaf Corn Salad

Valerianella locusta
Also known as mache (EN)

A variety of corn salad

An ancient wild green from Europe, known by many names, that self-seeds and now grows wild in many gardens. A winter green holding through cold weather, with a mild, nutty flavour best eaten raw. Scatter-sow straight onto beds in autumn and early spring and do not cover the seed, as it needs light to germinate.
