Scarlet Levathion Runner Bean

A variety of bean

A selected perennial scarlet runner bean with very large pods and excellent flavour. Eat green beans young before they go stringy, or use as a shellout or dry bean. Pinch the tops out at 30 cm. Prefers cool, moist roots, and stops setting beans if too hot or dry. Grown for 50 years by a Cambridge, New Zealand gardener.
