Also known as bread millet (EN) common millet (EN)

Sun requirement for proso millet: Plant in Full Sun

A quick-maturing, short, ancient cereal, 30 to 100 cm tall with hairy stems and loose panicles, and a rare glutinous trait. Its tan seeds are larger than most millets and easier to thresh and hull than barnyard millet. It is very attractive to wildlife, so cover it. Sow in trays in early October and transplant at 5 to 8 cm, 10 cm apart on the diagonal.
