Dundicut peppers are a dark red chili pepper native to Pakistan. They are a cultivar of either Capsicum frutescens or Capsicum annuum. The plants produce 2-3cm, upright, teardrop-shaped fruits that ripen from green to dark red. The fruit is similar in size and flavor to Scotch Bonnet peppers, but, with a Scoville rating of 30,000 to 65,000, not as hot. Dundicut are typically used dried in curries, chutneys, and sauces, and have a mildly fruity aroma.
